Accessibility statement – ​​Status: October 2025

HalloGeschenk.de is committed to making its website and digital services accessible in accordance with the German Accessibility Strengthening Act (BFSG) and the Web Content Accessibility Guidelines (WCAG) 2.1, conformance level AA. We adhere to the WCAG principles of perceivable, operable, understandable, and robust, and continuously improve our accessibility. In addition, we provide an accessibility interface that allows users to adjust key display and operating parameters to their individual needs.

Conformity status

This website is partially compliant with WCAG 2.1 – Level AA according to EN 301 549. As an existing offering (first published: November 30, 2023), we are taking the transitional arrangements into account until June 28, 2030. Content and functions that are newly published or significantly modified from June 28, 2025 onwards will be reviewed for WCAG 2.1 AA compliance before publication and made available in compliance.

Current, known barriers

Alternative text (WCAG 1.1.1): More precise alt text is added for individual logos, banners and icons; decorative graphics receive alt="Banner".
Structure and hierarchy (WCAG 1.3.1): Isolated heading jumps are corrected; semantic regions and skip links are standardized.
Focus Visibility and Overlays (WCAG 2.4.11): Menu, shopping cart and search drawers as well as quick views receive improved focus management with visible focus and focus trap.
Name, Role, Value (WCAG 4.1.2): Individual form fields and buttons receive visible labels or aria-labels.
Other points: Timeout notices (2.2.6), target sizes at least 24×24 CSS px (2.5.8), controllable hover/focus content (1.4.13), labels instead of placeholder-only (3.3.2).

Planned and ongoing measures

Systematic maintenance of alt text according to editorial guidelines.
Heading refactoring for a consistent H-hierarchy and clearly defined landmarks
Focus management in modals and drawers with focus trap, escape closing, and no hidden focus.
Form accessibility with label/for, clearly linked error messages and aria-live status.
Timeout UX with pre-warning, extension option and input caching.
Target sizes and interaction: Interactive targets at least 24×24 CSS px; tooltips and popovers are dismissible and stable.
Ongoing tests with NVDA, JAWS and VoiceOver as well as current versions of Chrome, Firefox, Safari and Edge.

HTML5/CSS, JavaScript, and cookies are required for core functionality. Tested environments: current versions of Chrome, Firefox, Safari, and Edge on Windows, macOS, iOS, and Android.
